Canna pebbles 8-16mm -1L
Keramsite (clay pebbles) is produced by using a combination of the best quality pure clays. Keramzite is baked in an open furnace using high-grade clean fuels, guaranteeing the absence of heavy metals or other contaminants.
The size of the expanded clay pebbles provides stability, and the uneven shape of the pebble is an ideal surface for roots and beneficial bacteria. The porous structure of expanded clay has a high water capacity and is suitable for both ebb/flood and top irrigation systems.
They usually need to be washed before use as they tend to have clay dust on them due to rubbing against each other during transport.

For best results, wash and soak in pH adjusted H water for 3-5 days, changing the pH water solution daily. This will produce a medium that does not increase the CF of your nutrient solution and has minimal impact on pH.
When cleaned, they can be dropped into ebb/flow systems or drip-sprinkler-system pots, with your plants placed right in them.
After harvesting, old roots can be removed by hand before reuse. Soaking the expanded clay in a quality enzyme product for several days will also help break down the old roots. In this way, the pebbles can be reused several times. However, after a few uses, expanded clay tends to lose its rough, porous surface and will need to be replaced to maintain its effectiveness.
Pebbles can be mixed into soils to improve drainage or used in containers with soil to reduce water evaporation.
